Continuing our journey to SharePoint 2016, after Planning and architecting Distributed cache Service for SharePoint 2016, I would like to stress in this article mostly on memory requirements for SharePoint 2016.

For a development server, minimal memory requirements have increased from 8 GB (for SharePoint 2013) to 16 GB (for SharePoint 2016). For a dev or eval server with all service, 24 GB is still enough !
But most importantly, for a SharePoint production server standard prerequisites have increased from 12 GB (for SharePoint 2013) to 16 GB (for SharePoint 2016).

As far as software requirements are concerned, this a standard evolution, no revolution here.

Why DB server information are “N/A” for SharePoint 2016?

Because Microsoft does not provide sizing infos for DB server for SharePoint 2016.
